Well maybe Roger Federer did not run riot during the opening match on centre court for the 2007 Wimbledon tennis event, however he did have comfortable victory over Teimuraz Gabashvili of Russia 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. The match lasted one hour 32 minutes.
Federer is the four time defending champion and later said he was happy to get off to a good start in his title defence. Following a tough French Open campaign Federer comes into Wimbledon without having played in a grass court lead up event. In a match that pitted the world number one against the 85th ranked player in the world Federer showed that he is still a master of grass.
